A visual language inspired by Black British Jazz, soul and the listening culture. Each piece is a score without notes.
"Jazz is the space
between the notes.
That is where I live."— SABLE
SABLE North explores the space between rhythm and silence. It is built from fragments, repetition, improvisation and the gaps in between.
A system that listens. A language that speaks in shapes, colour and composition. Each piece is a score without notes — a record of feeling, not fixed, but heard.
Inspired by Black British jazz, vintage sound, vinyl collecting and the Japanese kissa listening culture. Ten works. Two objects. One score.
SABLE North is building a physical listening space in the heart of the city — a room dedicated to sound, stillness and the slow act of paying attention. Inspired by the Japanese kissa, it is part listening bar, part studio, part sanctuary.
A place that houses creativity — where musicians, printmakers, writers and collectors gather to hear records the way they were meant to be heard, on a system tuned for warmth and depth. The walls hold the work. The room holds the feeling.
Listening sessions, residencies and quiet hours. Somewhere the city can come to slow down and tune in.

Two 3D printed objects. Each edition of 10 + 2AP. PLA with hand-finishing. No two exactly alike.
3D printed PLA with hand finishing. A musical score made visual — geometric forms in the SABLE North palette arranged on a wall-mounted bar. Each edition hand-finished and unique in placement.
A freestanding sculptural score — geometric forms in midnight, forest, ochre and soul pink standing on a matte black base. Three-dimensional music. No two editions identical.
Rounded forms. Weight. Foundation. The low end that holds everything else in place.
Sharp forms. Energy. Improvisation. The melody that departs from the score.
Repetition. Pattern. The beat. The grid that everything plays against.
The void. The pause. As important as the sound. Jazz lives in the gaps.
Broken shapes. Movement. Unpredictable. The note that wasn't in the score.
The groove. The record. The needle. The warmth of analogue. Something that holds the feeling.
"Crackle. Breath. Needle drop. Texture of memory. For collectors. Remains."
